D-Day's Revenge...
Speak Your Mind!
D-Day speaks with The Dirty Youth
I've often stated the obvious when reviewing music from different bands concerning their talents and even adding that "why are they not famous?" line that gets used quite often from many people about many bands.
After hearing the music from The Dirty Youth, both the single "Fight" which you'll see a brief review of here, and then later an albums worth (which you'll soon read about in this interview), I'll have to say with confidence that they have every reason to break out. If they do not, it certainly won't be for lack of talent and appeal. They are just heavy enough to attract attention from metalheads like me, while also having a punk flavor as well as being radio friendly and the looks of stars.
It's not often that I put something so bold in written form here at the Metalzine, but in this case I have some confidence.

D-Day: Thank you for speaking with D-Day’s Revenge!

TDY: No problem....Our record company told us we had to lol Nah it's a pleasure =)

D-Day: Let’s start with a little history. When did The Dirty Youth first form, and how long have the current members been on board?

TDY:  It was about 4 years ago, Myself and Matt met at a festival started writing some songs then hunted down other members from our homeland.

D-Day: Who are some of your musical influences?

TDY: Queen, Marilyn Manson, Skindred, Lamb of God, Michael Jackson, Elvis...too many to list really…

D-Day: You have a new album to unleash! Tell us about that.

TDY:  Yes! Red Light Fix is available to purchase online and in stores now. It's the best album I've ever heard and you should go buy it ;p

D-Day: How was your experience at the Download Festival?

TDY:  It was an amazing honour to play Download Festival. To play on the same bill as some of those bands was a dream come true, It's the most happy and most drunk weekend I've ever had in my life!

D-Day: How about future shows and/or touring? Do you have anything in the works or currently going on?

TDY:   We have lots coming up check out www.thedirtyyouth.co.uk for all dates!

D-Day: If you could choose any three active bands to go on a world tour with, which would they be and why?

TDY:   ACDC, Slipknot, Bullet for my Valentine! Think that would show us how far we have to go..

D-Day: What has been the craziest thing that has happened with the band while performing? (Any equipment or wardrobe malfunctions, drunken fan moments, bad promoters, someone shit their pants while playing on stage…. You get the idea.)

TDY:  Leon set fire to his arse hair to try and mask the smell of the venue before. All this was before snorting chilli and suctioning pint glasses to his arse later that same night! (footage on YouTube) ;p

D-Day:  Which of the following would be the most fun way for your band to get promotion?
a)      Being regular guests on a radio show.
b)      A photo shoot for the most popular music magazines.
c)      Being asked to play live on a popular television show.
d)     Recording a soundtrack for a porn movie.
e)      Being in the press for drunken misconduct.

TDY: Getting drunk whilst recording an x rated music video and doing a photo shoot for a popular music magazine that is being aired live over the radio which also gets played live on a popular television show.

D-Day:   Thank you so much for spending some time with us. Any final words for the fans?

TDY: Thanks so much for the support so far keep going to Live gigs and keep music alive!
