Everyone meet Herlaka! She is an album reviewer and interviewer not only for her own reviewzine at MySpace, but also for several other outlets including that really special underground gem... D-Day's Revenge!
It's been my pleasure to get to know her and now do some work with her and hopefully we can do some other type of projects together in the future.
You will see from this interview that she is already well established in the world of metal and has a very bright future ahead of her. It wouldn't surprise me at all if we were to see her in many publications or shows down the road...
D-Day: You write reviews for your own MySpace page and several other sites, correct? Who all do you write for so we can give them a plug. (I'm all for team work for the cause...)
Herlaka: I write for my own ReviewZine called "Grins From Below". I also write for AEA ZINE (Autoeroticasphyxium) www.myspace.com/aeazine

D-Day: You've also done some interviews, is that for your own page?
Herlaka: I have done Radio online interviews when I was a co-host for Metal Reigns. I do interviews for my sites as well. Some bands I have interviewed are NOVEMBERS DOOM, WYKKED WYTCH, DESENSITISED, MASTERY, LAKE OF TEARS, DECEASED, THE GREAT KAT, CYCLE SLUTS FROM HELL, BLOOD CULT, OBITUARY and many more!
D-Day: What is your relationship with Charles Manson? You two seem tight these days.
Herlaka: I have FULL permission from Charles Manson himself to run the "Official Charles Manson ATWA" on myspace. He calls me from time to time and its like I am not talking to the INFAMOUS man, but just Charles Manson as a person now these days. I write to him and he writes back, its cool. I also had a phone conversation with him where he allowed me to record and post on my Herlaka.com when it was up. He sang me a song on the phone when he called this last Black Friday..it was way to cool! We are cool with each other man, hes a great man I love him!
D-Day: You had your own website at one time. What happened with that, and will you try another one?
Herlaka: I did have my own site that was offered to me by Rock Hard Websites. It was great while it lasted but lets just say "creative differences". I would love to do another website..hint: any webmaster who wants to do one for me..know I have no money but plenty of ass and tits pics to post on it along with great music reviews and interviews! ahahaahahaha
D-Day: Do you have any particular reviews or interviews that really stand out to you? Which ones were the most exciting for you?
Herlaka: CHARLES MANSON!! I could quit my non paying job now..I have interviewed many bands and getting CHARLES MANSON was and will always be the big one! When I first spoke to him before I recorded it..I soon realized I was not going to be able to "interview" him..so I let him just talk and ATWA was what he wanted to speak of. The Great Kat was great as well! I got a DVD to review and she was so fast at responding to me.
D-Day: What are your impressions of metal today?
Herlaka: Today there are alot of great bands out there. I dont like shit like Slipknot or those hardcore/metal bands where they sing in a nice voice after doing death metal vocals..I am still very old school in my ways. Theres good stuff out there..I stay underground.
D-Day: What would you like to see yourself doing in 5 years? Any thoughts or dreams about that?
Herlaka: I would like to be the next "Metal Sanaz" did I spell her name right? I dont like Julyia at ALL!! As anyone who knows me knows! Mistress of Metal? ssssssss MY ASS!!! I just want people to be able to say "Yeah man! like that chick Metal Sanaz or Herlaka" I want to be one metal woman people go to for reviews/interviews etc. I would like to fucking hit the lotto to! Have my own Promoting company. Then again I would like a man with a huge cock and hot as Hel to back me up in all that I do! I dont have a life because of this and you know what? I dont give a shit! I love it!
D-Day: Have you had any thoughts about doing some modeling?
Herlaka: I do already! I have Sonia from Sakura Tattoo here in Laredo Texas, she does all my tattoos and photos as well. She is one HOT woman! I believe she can be the next Kat Von D! I do some of my own when I want to play dress-up.
D-Day: What is the main goal for you in regards to promoting metal?
Herlaka: To be known for spreading the word of bands that should be HEARD! A woman who will pass out free merch sent to me from all over the world and not let anything collect dust!
D-Day: How do you see the metal movement changing in the next few years?
Herlaka: I hope it goes back to the old school days! I think it will go back to the real DEATH*THRASH like it should be. The Iron Fist of true DEATH METAL shall be rise again!
