D-Day's Revenge....
Speak your mind!
I really enjoyed Caustic Felon's album "Downtown" when it was sent to me for review, so I knew I'd have to get an interview to go along with it.
Guitar player, Matt, was good enough to oblige and shed some light on the band that is Caustic Felon......

D-Day: Thank you for speaking with us at the Revenge.

Matt: Glad to be here.

D-Day: What or who was your inspiration for getting into music?

Matt: I started off playing classical piano, at 16 I heard my first Kiss song and it was on. I was givin a Les Paul from my dad and locked myself in my room until my fingers bled.

D-Day: How long has the current line-up of Caustic Felon been together? Introduce the band.

Matt: Current line-up is three years with our newest member being Charlie Sullivan Our Singer. One year earlier Anthony Chris our drummer was added into the mix With the two founding members Paul McFaddin on Bass and myself on Guitar.

D-Day: Is there anything you can tell us about a future recording?

Matt: We have a lot of Kick Ass material ready to go. Probably within the next year we will start the recording process.

D-Day: How about live performances? Any planned for the near future that you would like to announce?

Matt: We have a few shows coming up in the next two weeks and we have few things we are currently working on for the end of the year, nothing confirmed yet. Visit our website at www.causticfelon.com

D-Day: Do you have any desire to be on a "major" label? Tell us why and your thoughts on the matter.

Matt: Of course we're in it to win it. That has always been the goal, we are currently seeking different avenues to take us to the next level. I would love nothing more than to devote my life to playing Metal 100% of the time rather than working 90% of the time to play Metal 10% of the time.

D-Day: Music downloading doesn't seem to be a big issue like it was several years ago. But tell us what your thoughts would be if you had discovered that 1000 people had downloaded your music for free. Would you consider it stealing or advertisement?

Matt: Having a thousand devoted fans that are willing to commit a felony for our music would be a compliment.

D-Day: What are two other bands that you would like to tour the world with as your "dream tour"?

Matt: Definetly Lamb of God, the second band would be a coin toss within the band, but my vote would be Black Label Society.

D-Day: Let's try a multiple choice question. In the spirit of Halloween; Which of the following would you consider to be the scariest thing that could happen to the band?

a) The lights go out just as you're doing a stunt onstage.

b) An over-excited male fan requests nude pictures.

c) The female groupies run out of money.

d) You get booked on a tour with Kevin Federline.

Matt: First of all I don't even know who Kevin Federline is.
I've had the lights go out on me many times usually in a solo.
I can live with pussy and no money better than I can live with money and no Pussy.
And the over excited fan I'll send a picture of my Pittbull!

D-Day: What has been the craziest or wierdest thing you have experienced while being in Caustic Felon? Anyone shit their pants onstage; equipment malfunctions; zany fan moments; promoter issues... you get the idea.

Matt: While playing in the finals at 4th and B here in San Diego, our singer Charlie "blacked out" right before my eyes onstage during the Song Xcellerator. Amazingly though he re-gained conciousness just in time for the second verse. Everyone thought it was a stunt for the show, but I saw his eyes roll into the back of his head and felt the stage thump as his head hit the floor. My first thought was, I wonder what he was on and why he didn't share!

D-Day: What's the hardest part about being in a band?

Matt: I would say the hardest part about being in a band is juggling the personalities along with the adversities that come with starting at the bottom and working your way to the top.

D-Day: What are the major goals for Caustic Felon?

Matt: Well first of all, I would like to see our music marketed across the globe so that all Metal fans could get a chance to hear us. Go on a Tour with a major act across the United States and Europe, with that in mind would come devoting all our energy into our music rather than working for peanuts just to buy another pack of guitar strings.

D-Day: Thank you for speaking with us! Any final words you'd like to share?

First of all I would like to thank you for bringing us into the DDAY fold and we are glad you thought the CD was Killer. I would just like to say to all our fans that await us out there. "WE are working very hard, to play in your backyard" and its "YOU" the Metal Fan that will make this possible.
